Complaint
The EMT was very rude, unprofessional, lacked ethics. Literally stomped on a new purse that I had just received.
Did not allow me to ride in the ambulance with my significant other although I had a mask on.
Took my significant others State identification out of my hand and refused to return it. And the identification has not been located and was not at the emergency room upon arrival.

Verified Reviewer | West Hartford, ConnecticutDisappointed customer service
Writing this in regard to the customer service and billing of AMR. I have never experienced anxiety from a customer care service, a place that is supposed to helping people but rather is doing the exact opposite, if not making matters worse.
Long story, short I had one claim with them in 2018 (no problems, coded correctly, everything fine) and then in 2020 I had the same exact claim where I have been on the phone countless of times with AMR representatives.
To sum it up, AMR told me they coded it incorrectly and they would resend it. I then continued to have follow up conversations with them and insurance and they indicated that they are still processing. Not until I called insurance again, for them to tell me that they aren't going to resend it (aka someone/multiple someone's clearly lied to my face and kept me having to keep calling).
First, why this claim was code differently from the first time is confusing to me and second, how they lied and treated me is beyond belief.
Every time I spoke someone they didn't listen to my questions and would repeat what they wanted to say.
Overall the worst organization I have ever dealt with!
I tried to give them feedback and they don't even care. Just feeling left with anxiety.

Illegal restraints and Over charging patients
AMR transferred my minor daughter to another facility AGAINST our wishes. They strapped my daughter down like a wild animal then over sedated her with Ativan.
Then they had the nerve to send an outrageous bill for their services AFTER our insurance negotiated payment with them. I called AMR about the bill to let them know that we didn't approve of their services AND Cigna paid the negotiated price and said we were not responsible for balance because of the negotiated fee. I was informed by AMR that they could bill whatever they wanted even though they already negotiated the price with Cigna. I contacted AMR again to inform them that Cigna requested they put the bill on hold so they could investigate.
AMR refused, they sent me a letter saying I was being turned over to collections. The bottom line, AMR is a corrupt company that believes it's acceptable to DOUBLE BILL patients!
They can strap children to a stretcher and oversedate them to make their job easier. This company should be put out of business.

I agree with this lady, same thing happened to me. AMR ambulance personnel were unprofessional, disrespectful especially the ambulance driver. He is the big idiot among them.
AMR may be a lousy company (and judging from reviews they likely are), but please don’t attribute racism to a company or employee without more facts. That is a strong allegation to throw around, and it’s done far too easily lately. It appears AMR gives lots of people crummy service.
This guy stomped on my purse. It is based on facts as I am the one who experienced this directly from the EMT.
What other reason would he have to treat someone who needs medical attention this way? I never even received a response back from the company.
